To the Zoo

A summer just wouldn't be complete without a really hot day at the zoo.

Hot or not, we had a great time.

What a Place

We spent the day at the This is the Place Heritage Park.

The kids were able to explore a ship;

They panned for gold.

They rode a horse,

(although Ali wasn't so sure about the horses).

They were able to see and pet some baby animals.

The babies were really good and even coordinated their naps.

We went on a train ride,

a mini train ride,

and climbed on and played in a train, too.

Then, we learned to walk on stilts,

played some pioneer games,

and even had time to do a few chores.

Pioneer Day Parade

We had a neighborhood kids' parade in our circle to celebrate the 24th.

The kids decorated their bikes so they could ride them in the parade/lets race around the circle as fast as we can :)

This was probably my favorite entry. (Not counting my own kids of course.)

Then they got to ride in a trailer behind a tractor.

\

After that, we ate breakfast together.

It was a great morning, so much more fun than trying to fight the crowds to see a long, hot parade, and I think the kids would definitely agree.
